After class we went to dinner with another couple, the yoga instructor, and a woman from class. It was fun. I found the other couple Delightful! We had so much in common! I like that! I hope to get in touch with them again.
Autumn,
I am so glad you are here. I hope to enjoy you today.
Things I love about Autumn:
The colors, deep red, yellow, pale green, the sound of leaves crunching below my feet, smoke billowing from chimneys, squash, mushrooms, crisp air, the smell of decaying plants, cinnamon, apples, fire, pie, cozy, hot cocoa, extra blankets on the couch and bed, soft knit hats, fingerless gloves, tall striped socks, layering shirts, thick tights, boots, scarves, thick sweaters, heavy sweatshirts, flannel pajamas, hot soup, sun after rain, spiders webs, dark nights, flannel sheets with snowflakes on them, apple cider.
okay that is all I can think of for now.
This last Sunday I went on a photo stroll with Homebody, Kitty, and Karen.
I really hope it was half as fun for them as it was for me! I had a great time! I got a little anxious meeting new people and thought my anxiety was going to get the best of me, I was feeling a bit uncertain of my health. My tummy is never nice when I am anxious. I wonder if I will ever grow out of this feeling meeting new people. Hmmm... ANYWAY, what a great group of ladies! I hope to do it again. We walked around from about 12:30 until about 5. I really drug them around town. Sorry! I never get a chance to really take my time walking around because I am usually with other people who are not taking pictures so I have to hurry, and choose my shots wisely. Not Sunday! Boy, I shot everything my little heart desired! I uploaded about 100 photos to my flicker page. Both Kitty and Homebody have photos from our stroll on flickr as well. I don't know if Karen has any photos on flickr though, I am hoping she will yell me in the comments. ;-) But she did post a nice group photo of us all here as well as a cloud turtle which I totally missed!
I ran into my baby brother hanging out before he had to go to work, this was kind of special to me because he is quite elusive. Hard to get hold of. Something I strive to become too. ;-)
I took so many that I have broke it down into smaller chunks of photos to post, blue green, and I am not sure about the rest. Haha! The photos will tell me.
Tuesdays things:

I really want to say THANK YOU! to all of you for giving me so many happy birthday wishes! I REALLY brightened my weekend.
On Friday we had a nice dinner and I ate too many birthday cupcakes. Saw the stereotype of apathetic teens while waiting in line at the bakery. She was all dressed in black, heavy make-up and Bright Eyes himself waling into this cupcake shop would probably be the only thing to make this girl smile. She was with her mother, texting her friends. Gloomily saying to me "have a happy birthday" as I left. Her voice sounded almost mean, but that is the apathetic teen. I wonder if I was ever like that.
Saturday I went with the wedding party (for SIL's wedding) and we got fitted for the brides made dresses. Depressed after fitting we went shoe shopping. We bought shoes for the dresses. All I asked was that we go a little conservative with the heel. So 4 inches it is.
I have shrank a bit since high school, thank goodness! I have to practice walking in them. sigh....they look like high school prom shoes, all strappy and silver with rhinestones. I will post a photo soon.
Yesterday I put my order in for my camera, I should get it this week. I get butterflies and slightly nauseas when I spend over $100 on something that is not a bill, and bitter when I have to spend that much on a bill. Haha!
It will take me a little while to get caught up on your blogs, be patient my friends! :-)
Thanks Again for all the birthday greetings!
That store, what we always called the "little store" was where I would walk my baby brother and sister to to get candy, soda, and milk. I would walk with their tiny hand in mine, crossing streets cautiously together, excitedly choosing candy to bring home. Then I would carry their tiny body home on my back, they would be too tired to walk all the way home. I did this with such joy. I was in high school, sister was in elementary school by then, but brother was still a toddler. I did not go out with friends, or attend school dances, I played with them. I would babysit them and watch these amazing little people grow up. Now my Sister is in College, she wants to be a fashion writer for Vogue, my brother is in his last year of high school and wants to be a musician, he plays guitar and writes songs. I am SO proud of them, I feel so fortunate that I had the chance to hold those tiny hands in mine. To be a part of who they have become.
I layered my clothes as much as I could. It was chilly yesterday. The sun was warm though.
I went to my favorite antique store where they gave me a large scrapbook from 1935 with hundreds of pages filled with newspaper clippings about the Dion Quintuplets. They were an oddity back then, for a woman to have 5 babies, and lived through it as well as the babies. The children were basically taken away from the parents by the Doctor who said they needed constant supervision. He made them a sideshow attraction. People drove from all over to watch them play, eat, sleep, and cry. This is how these girls were raised. Reality TV before TV. I saw a documentary about them and interviews with three of the girls. They talked about how hard it was to be raised by nurses rather than parents. Who by the way never saw a penny from the sideshow racket. They were eventually not allowed to even view the children from the visitors area.
Sad.
And to all women who have to get a mammogram, it does NOT hurt! I thought it was going to, but NO! It was uncomfortable to have a woman yanking my breast around and putting it in a vice, but no pain! So that is what I did on Halloween, I got a mammogram and took a walk. : )
Husband went on a run and i walked in the woods, trying to really drink everything in. It was lovely.
We had a wind storm roll through the area yesterday, a few trees went down in my area and school let out early which my nephew was thrilled about. A tree fell on his street so I got some free wood for next year to keep me warm. So before the wind came in I went to the backyard and snapped some pictures. I was in my slippers and snowman pajamas. Tip toeing around huge mushrooms. I took several pictures of my monkey tree.
Then this morning it poured so hard I thought the roof would give in, then as fast as it started it stopped. The sun came out, I decided to shed the ducky pajamas and take a quick walk before it gets nasty again. It was so fresh out there, all of the trees that were so full of beautiful red and orange leaves were almost all bare. Some completely bare. All leaves stripped of leaves within a 24 hour period. The sidewalks full of leaves, drains clogged. I kicked them around a bit, then it started to cloud over again. I came home, heated up some water and had a cup of blackberry sage tea with a bit of honey harvested near my home. So, here are some photos I took.
My walk today.
I stepped out my front door, no rain yet....yet. I sat at the end of my walk waiting for my inner self to tell me "Go That Way!" so I went to the right. Good choice. Drips of rain fall from the sky onto my teeny facial hairs, time for my umbrella. Red and white umbrella above my head and striped rubber boots on my feet, I am ready. The wind was cool on my cheeks and it felt good in my aching lungs. I could smell the rain through the smell of smoke wafting from the chimneys of my neighbors. This is what Autumn smells like, rain, decaying leaves, and burning wood. It is a wonderful smell. Down alleys and sidewalks I go. Then I came across the most beautiful mud puddles I have ever seen. They had collected the leaves of all the trees on th block, it looked like confetti, like I was a day late for a fairy party. So, with rubber boots on my feet, I decided to splish splash in the
Tomorrow is a holiday on my husbands side of the family, it is called Thanksmas. Husbands grandparents move to Arizona and winter there, so they miss the holidays. His family is so large that they really do ALL get together. Husbands mom is one of 5 kids, all 5 kids will be there along with their kids and their grandkids. We give modest gifts, like homemade banana bread, cookies, and crafts. I usually make soap but have not had time to make it, so I mounted some of my photos on cards making a small package of stationary. We have been celebrating Thanksmas for at least 8 years, maybe more. One of husbands cousins is about 7 years old and asked his dad how other peoples families celebrate Thanksmas. CUTE! It is just a time we all get together and talk loud and laugh louder. Hope I feel better *crosses fingers*
