This last Sunday I went on a photo stroll with Homebody, Kitty, and Karen.
I really hope it was half as fun for them as it was for me! I had a great time! I got a little anxious meeting new people and thought my anxiety was going to get the best of me, I was feeling a bit uncertain of my health. My tummy is never nice when I am anxious. I wonder if I will ever grow out of this feeling meeting new people. Hmmm... ANYWAY, what a great group of ladies! I hope to do it again. We walked around from about 12:30 until about 5. I really drug them around town. Sorry! I never get a chance to really take my time walking around because I am usually with other people who are not taking pictures so I have to hurry, and choose my shots wisely. Not Sunday! Boy, I shot everything my little heart desired! I uploaded about 100 photos to my flicker page. Both Kitty and Homebody have photos from our stroll on flickr as well. I don't know if Karen has any photos on flickr though, I am hoping she will yell me in the comments. ;-) But she did post a nice group photo of us all here as well as a cloud turtle which I totally missed!
I ran into my baby brother hanging out before he had to go to work, this was kind of special to me because he is quite elusive. Hard to get hold of. Something I strive to become too. ;-)
I took so many that I have broke it down into smaller chunks of photos to post, blue green, and I am not sure about the rest. Haha! The photos will tell me.
Tuesdays things:
Yuck-
1. still feeling icky, like maybe I am trying to get sick but my body is putting up the good fight. I will let it, after this I am taking a nap.
2. just got another invite to a bridal shower, that makes two more wedding to attend in my future as well as Grandpas birthday, a family camp out (which I may not attend if SIL and niece have not made up yet, or if SIL's boyfriend type thing is going), showers for weddings, baseball game, etc. Husband asked which week would be good to take off of work, so he is free for a week and we are not making ANY plans besides maybe a double date with an out of towner ;-)
3. um.... I can't think of more icky stuff, well I burned my grilled cheese sandwich. but I still ate it

1. You know my laundry monster? Well it has been conquered! YES! I am VICTORIOUS!!! Now to clean off all the cat hair off my furniature. (little hint: do not get velvet type fabric for upholstery if you have animals)
2. my tomatoes are getting ripe in the back yard
3. it rained and it smells amazing outside
4. I uploaded all my photos to flickr
5. I am tired enough to take a nap, just in time for the law & order to put me to sleep.
6. Husband is going to be home for a week! YAY!!!
7. My fridge is full of fresh produce from the farmers market, i have a whole list of yummy dinners planned with them.
Yay! New Photo Safari! I love these types of exercises, They teach me a lot. So here are 4 different things, Stacked and with only Natural light. I may be called out for cheating, I have a whole wall of windows. Haha!
I am also putting this in the new group "Favorite Things" because Old Vintage things ARE my favorite things! This is why I live in a home about to burst at the seems.
The Syrups, I have picked up at yard sales, none are over $4 (the $4 one is dated from 1898)
The books all came from a recent sale, 35 cents a piece, I have about 25 of them.
The teacups and saucers, well that blue kills me, I love forget-me-nots too.
Then the wooden boxes are from the 1940's and 50's. You were to keep letters from your sweetheart in them my grandmother has told me.
Happy New Year to every one of you! I sincerely hope this next year brings all of you an abundance of
Peace,
Love,
New Passions,
Gently Learned lessons,
Great Dreams,
Goals met,
Beauty found,
Calm,
Good Health,
Healing of all wounds both physical and emotional,
happiness,
laughter,
joy,
I could go on and on and on.
I just want you all to receive the best of what life has to offer.
If you just happen to read this strangers blog, do not think you are exempt from my well wishes, it means you too!
That store, what we always called the "little store" was where I would walk my baby brother and sister to to get candy, soda, and milk. I would walk with their tiny hand in mine, crossing streets cautiously together, excitedly choosing candy to bring home. Then I would carry their tiny body home on my back, they would be too tired to walk all the way home. I did this with such joy. I was in high school, sister was in elementary school by then, but brother was still a toddler. I did not go out with friends, or attend school dances, I played with them. I would babysit them and watch these amazing little people grow up. Now my Sister is in College, she wants to be a fashion writer for Vogue, my brother is in his last year of high school and wants to be a musician, he plays guitar and writes songs. I am SO proud of them, I feel so fortunate that I had the chance to hold those tiny hands in mine. To be a part of who they have become.
This was Friday's walk. My camera battery ran out on my way home so that made me kind of sad, but then I was able to really enjoy the walk for the walk. I breathed in deep, I watched the clouds roll in quickly above me, the clouds changed shape so fast. It was really a lovely walk. The air so clean from the morning rain. The sun is shining right now, calling for me to take a walk this afternoon. It promises to warm my back when the wind cools my cheeks.
It is not a great photo, and I apologize for that. I first saw it while we were driving home. This rainbow did NOT extend its colorful legs toward the ground like all of the rainbows I have ever seen or drawn as a child. This one was up in the sky, reaching its legs across the clouds above. At one point there were two, joined in the middle making an X in the sky directly above my head. I ran inside my home to get the camera, and this is what I was able to capture. It was almost gone. Can anyone explain to me what made this happen? I have been gazing at the clouds above for 34 years and admiring the ever changing art above me. Never have I seen this, it was really neat.
