The last few days it has been So Toasty here in the Pacific Northwest, Nice, but kind of sweaty. Well, woke up and there are clouds covering the sky today. I like that too, it will most likely burn off this afternoon, but that gives me plenty of time to air out my really warm home. So I will post very colorful photos today along with my list.
1. my face is SO broken out right now, I have been SO stressed out and been throwing all sorts of garbage down my throat and it is that time.
2. the enormous piles of laundry, not even dirty, clean ones that I put off and put off folding and hanging and putting away, I know I created this problem, but It is on my list
3. We got something very strange in the mail yesterday, seems like someone is applying for a loan to buy my house, only thing is, it is not for sale. It was sent to us by accident. Speaking of accident, we were in one about three years ago and have not heard whether that had been settled or anything, it was our fault, and the other person was asking for SO much money and I will say It was not that bad, really. Well, it is the same last name as on the loan for our house. We thought that he was going to try and take our house! We called this morning and that suit was settled last March. Phew!!! Now I need to find out why someone is trying to get a loan for our house.

8. My FAVORITE show is back on for the Summer! History Detectives!!! Oh my goodness! The first story made me Cry! A WWII diary of a man has been kept by a family, but it was not their own family, it was another man who served with the family member. They always wondered why the diary just stopped, whatever happened to the man who kept it. So they call in the histpory detectives who found out the answer along with bunches of history about this time period! Turns out Kamikazi pilots had a better rate of survival that the US airmen flying a certain type of plane they called the flying coffin. Also a story about Annie Oakley, the family has a coin that was said to be shot by her, also a book dating from the 1850's about abeing a wife in the Mormon religion (which was a not very nice book)
It is History told through objects, this show is AWESOME!! I love it!
9. I feel more helpful than helpless now. More powerful that powerless. I am finding a fine balance there.
Enjoy the day my Friends! Go Out and Find some beauty today! It hides everywhere, I promise.
She has always been there at the Antique Sandwich Company in Tacoma. It was established in 1973 by a group of hippies wanting an eatery with character. I started coming here as a child.
There she is, the marble statue. I have gazed at her for 30 years. She seemed so strong to me. I know nothing about her, but in my head I know her. Her strength awakened my own strength inside. She showed me how a woman can be strong and beautiful. When I was a child I would touch her feet, so cold and hard, it surprised me at first. I thought she was just going to move at any moment. I swear I saw her breathing once. I stared into the carved eyes, studied the folds in her toga style dress, the bones in her toes, the soft curls of her hair. She is so dirty now, collecting dust. The only white spot on her body is her nipple. Her exposed breast made me nervous as a child, we would dare each other to touch it, Zach did it gladly. We must have been about 10 years old, I can see we were not the only ones.
It felt like with every angle I snapped a photo, her expression changed. She says so much, and nothing at all. She has been my goddess for so long, and now I share her with you. If you know anything about her I would love to know more.
OKAY! I just called and got a teeny bit more info about her. She has a date of 1893, her name carved in her is "Colombo" she is from Italy, Caracas and was made for the Colombia exhibition. They did a bit of research on her and found some photos of some similar statues but not her, a reference to one named "Americas" which makes sense considering her dress.
I told her of a few of my stories about her and she laughed. She has been meaning to take some photos of her and send them to the smithsonian to see if they could give her some more info.
next stop, Google.
My walk today.
I stepped out my front door, no rain yet....yet. I sat at the end of my walk waiting for my inner self to tell me "Go That Way!" so I went to the right. Good choice. Drips of rain fall from the sky onto my teeny facial hairs, time for my umbrella. Red and white umbrella above my head and striped rubber boots on my feet, I am ready. The wind was cool on my cheeks and it felt good in my aching lungs. I could smell the rain through the smell of smoke wafting from the chimneys of my neighbors. This is what Autumn smells like, rain, decaying leaves, and burning wood. It is a wonderful smell. Down alleys and sidewalks I go. Then I came across the most beautiful mud puddles I have ever seen. They had collected the leaves of all the trees on th block, it looked like confetti, like I was a day late for a fairy party. So, with rubber boots on my feet, I decided to splish splash in the
I woke up and heard the weather report, today was to be the last of the sunny days for a while, and Thursday will welcome in the rain. I felt like I needed to soak in some sunlight before it goes away for a while. So I put on a chocolate brown long sleeve T and an orange striped t shirt over the top, jeans, and pink tennies. Yellow , pink, and whit striped hat, and I was locking my door. My favorite clothing weather, I can layer SO many colors. Nice! I just meandered in and out of alleys and neighborhood streets, dogs barked and cats ran to me for a nice little scratch on the back. While taking some pictures with my music bouncing in my head I heard somebody speaking to me, It was the Mormon boys who avoided my door earlier due to my sign that reads "if you are selling:*Windows *God *or anything else Do Not Knock! Unless it is cookies, go ahead and knock if it is cookies" (I had a salesman bring me cookies thinking he could still pitch his insurance to me, I took his cookies and said I do not buy Anything from my door except the occasional girl scout cookie") Anyway, back to the Mormon boys, I heard them tell me about Jesus Christ enhancing my life, but all I wanted to do was take more pictures of my neighbors garden so I could enhance my life. Funny I thought to myself, I politely told them no thank you and they politely left me with my camera, the flowers and the sun on my face.
The beauty of the day was just incredible I thought. I breathed in deep. I made a vegetable soup that was really good.
Then my Best friend called me, her AMAZING grandmother had passed away. People, seriously I think she just knew Everything, she is so balanced and lovely. Such a beautiful woman, I hope I grow to be similar to her as I age. So to her memory I dedicate the flowers here. Her beauty is more than these pictures, but this is a way I can honor her. I send many hugs and love to the family. <3
