List List List List number List

I am so bad when it comes to lists. Sometimes I even make out a grocery list and more times than not, leave it sitting where I left it while I flounder in the store trying to think of what it was that I needed. Somewhere along the way, all the good junk food jumps in my cart and I find when I get home that I got nothing on my list. I think that when you make lists, you are supposed to look at them when they are done. LOL
Hahaha! Yeah, I would turn around to get the list if I got to the store without it. Haha!
I do the same thing gf, make a grocery list and leave it at home, or in the car. I do the same thing with those canvas grocery bags. Maybe 1 trip out of ten I will remember to bring them into the store. That helps. haha
[this is good]
Do you have a box full of finished lists? haha :))

Lists help me immensely, when I remember to use them!
wow. sounds strange but this is fascinating. the making of lists and what goes on them and where they are set and how items get crossed off. i think it's so fascinating 'cause i'm so inherently organized inside my head and skilled at mental lists that your prolific list-making, it's just so interesting. i want to understand so lemme ask, if you don't make the lists, nothing gets done? is this accurate?

I would be better off and it would be much cheaper if I would turn around and get my list - but I know if I ever got home, I would forget why I was there and wouldn't even have the junk food.

I am hoping they don't start charging for the sacks here - I would always have to buy sacks - would never remember them.

<---especially for the laundry being done since you HATE doing laundry. YAY!
@Skyrat - keep 'em in the car.
[das ist gut]
I love your lists! I'll sit down with those list headings from your recent posts, one of these days, and will try to fill them out.
I even use lists, sometimes, when I write stories. If I cannot come up with the next thing that should happen, I force myself to write a list of at least ten alternatives. Twenty are even better. I already did lists of one hundred alternatives.
Or if I can't come up with a name for a character, I make up ten, twenty names. Finding ten is easier than finding one. Takes away the pressure to find the perfect solution straight away. Writing down the number of alternatives on an empty sheet, alone, creates a playful pull.
Ah, lists are phantastic! And crossing out things on to-do-lists is the best. So satisfying!
Thank you for reminding me of the magic in list making.
wow i guess ive bin a little listless lately
Hahahahahaha....too, too funny !!!
I make shopping lists....or else I can't even remember what it is I need when I get there.

If I'm going on a trip I have to make lists to curb the anxiety that I will leave something important behind.

I like cute notepads too. I have a Hello Kitty notepad. I was really surprised when my husband didn't object to carrying a grocery list to the store on Hello Kitty notepaper. What a nice guy !!!
haha ME TOO gf, or just decide to "wait till later" to go!
I keep mine in the car, and only remember that I forgot them when I am in the checkout line!
That is me. I have grocery bags at home and leave them at home every time. I have a vast accumulation of plastic bags to recycle.
I recycle them, it would depress me to see a box of unfinished lists. I do re-use lists that I did not get done the day before. I even keep dry erase markers in the bathroom for bathroom lists on the mirror
Absolutely true! I made my list here on Vox, but did not make one on paper, and nothing got done. If I do not make things in bite sized portions, where I can see each step laid out, I will get sidetracked and end up working my ass off for nothing at all. Example, if My aim was to clean the kitchen, and I found some hair accessories or a bottle of shampoo from the last grocery visit, I go place them in the bathroom, see the litter box and clean it, dump the trash, walk by the laundry room on the way in start a load that I will forget about and have to rewash it when I do find it later, go back into the kitchen hear the mail lady, get mail, see some bills that I sit down and pay, then I dink around on the computer, pick up some stuff that goes in the bedroom, see the magazine I was reading last night, flip through the pages, remember I was supposed to be cleaning the kitchen, find more stuff that belongs other places, find things in those locations that need to be in other places, and I waste a whole day moving bits around, my house remains a mess and I am exhausted. If I have a list, it helps focus me. If is is a kitchen day the list would look like this:
Dishes- clean sink - right side of sink - left side of sink - microwave - opposite side of the kitchen - stovetop - floors swept and mopped - cupboards wiped down - table at the end of the kitchen - dump trash
I am not organized in my head, AT ALL. I will chase my tail around if I do not create lists
Hahahaha! I am grateful Mr. Lavender and I do this chore together, but we have been known to joke around about buying stamps while in line at the register and forget to buy stamps. Sometimes two heads is still not enough
Thanks! I am not TOTALLY complete, the love seat still has a huge pile and there is a giant laundry basket full of unmatched socks... but I am dang close!
You are Most welcome Darling! Hahah! Lists are Great! I have tiny note pads in all my purses so I can make lists on the fly! I will be looking forward to your lists this weekend!
Hahaha!!! Thanks for the early morning giggle!
I too am so afraid I will forget something, and I want to be prepared for EVERYTHING!
My husband does not object to the cute paper either, I love when he makes his weekend to do list like Chop wood, get these things at hardware store, fix gutter, etc on sweet paper. Haha!
Take a picture of all your beautiful pads!
Hahah! I totally could!
Indoor shooting practice gf!
You're conquering it one article at a time! :D
lol. i've had that happen. i use canvas bags and i keep them on the passenger seat (doubling as a seat cover 'cause i keep my car super clean) and so it's rare to forget the bag when it's staring me in the face!
sooooo interesting.sounds like (a) you have a ton of household chores, lady! and (b) that lists are a good approach for anyone scattered and (c) your greatest danger is getting sidetracked and that when you walk through rooms and see the things that need doing that you leave them be and return to the focus room of the day (in your example, the kitchen). is that an accurate assessment?
Thats a good idea, next time, I'll put them on the passenger seat! Thanks :))
@Karen - i'm full of good ideas. :) glad to be of help, hope it works for ya!
i love lists, i'm always making them. i like how you make your lists for packing, thats how i do it to. right down to the specifics of the clothes.lol
[this is good]
I love lists too! I've been making them on a site called listography. :) Lists are the best.
Yes! Lists give me structure. I need structure
Absolutely! Packing lists are so detailed! Everything in piles on the bed, checking off each one as it is placed in the bag... Hahah! I know bunches of people do it too! Mr. Lavender thinks I am a bit neurotic, but he is never without anything on vacation!
oOOhh!!! A list website!!! :D
fascinating. speaking generally, doesn't everyone need structure of some sort to get anything done, be it laundry or roofing a house? ;)
absolutely, and mine are words on cute paper ;-)
