love the lighting on this
I think this is actually the best capture of the model's face, but it's far too bright/overexposed. (I guess that's why you stuck it in the BAD category.)
She loved it too, I see overexposed, she saw artistic. Haha! Thanks!
Thanks! It really is too bright, it ended up this way because of the white fence behind her. ooops. ;-) she is very critical of her own image, this is where her daughter learned it I suppose, but I took other shots I thought were really good, but she hated so she would not like it if I put them online for everyone to see. Haha!
Have you tried flipping the images horizontally?
Yeah, it gives too much room on either side of her. The long shots suited her best. Thanks!
[this is good]
over exposed is a great thing once you know how to control it, one fashion photographer i admire uses it for a living, by the way have you leared how to read the light meter in your camera?
I was reading that today! (about the light meter) Haha! Thanks!
I should have been more accurate with my intent. People are used to seeing themselves in a mirror. Where else??????? So the image they have of themselves is not reflected in the camera. It has been proven by many studies that if you flip the image, people are more likely to approve of the likeness. It's a psychological thing. This is apparently why people are so often not fond of their own portraits and often say that it does not look like them because to them, it really doesn't match the image they have imprinted in their own mind.
Well basically depending on the look you want you know your picture is overexposed when you have all the bars to the left of the light meter idealy you want it dead middle or one stop over or under, and you play around with shutter and fstop to adjust..
So Flipping it so the right side is on the left and the left side is on the right? Hmmm... That is very interesting, I will see what it looks like! Thanks!
Aha! I get it! Okay, I will pay attention next time! Thanks!
